The First Year Engineering Department of PVPIT organized a Guest Lecture to provide an overview of basic mathematics and especially show how mathematics is applied to solve fundamental engineering problems. The aim of guest lecture to show the students why mathematics is important in an engineering career by demonstrating how simple engineering problems can be mathematically described and methodically analyzed to find a solution.

ABOUT GUEST SPEAKER

Name: Dr. Udaykumar H. Naik

Education: M. Sc., M. Phil.,PhD

He is Alumni and a faculty of Willington College Sangli. Consecutively 39 years he is working in the same college. He published 38 research papers in different journals and in conferences and published eight renowned books of mathematics. He also contributed in the preparation of SIM in Shivaji University (Distance Education) of Mathematics.

 

 

 

The event started with the felicitation of the speaker Dr. Udaykumar H. Naik & Dr. S. V. Ranade by Principal Dr. D. V. Ghewade. In an introductory speech Principal Dr. D. V. Ghewade mentioned the need of understanding and application of mathematical  concepts for comprehensive study of engineering.

Dr. Udaykumar H. Naik in interaction with students of First Year Engineering, PVPIT discussed many fundamental concepts in mathematics such as Complex Numbers, Algebra, and Trigonometry etc. He invited to suggest queries which were students face to solve them. He provided various ways and techniques to solve them.Dr. S. V. Ranade (former Professor at Walchand College, Sangli) was also present.He also given guidance as how mathematics  is an integral part of engineering study.

Ms. Kashmira Katke anchored this function and Dr. Mrs. A. A. Patil offered vote of thanks. All the faculty members and students were present for the function.
